Another new site at Rye’s Homegrown

A final site has been added to the “garden roster” at Rye’s Homegrown this past week. With the completion of the Victoria site (in front of Jorgensen Hall) our final scheduled garden expansion for the 2012 summer season is complete. Using stacked milk crates donated from an array of locations including; Loblaws, Metro, Ryerson, and Fiesta Farms, we created small planters in which vegetables such as callaloo, beets, lettuce and carrots now grow. Furthermore, what used to be concrete bottoms of  lounge chairs that were once used around the Ryerson Campus, will soon house home-made self watering containers.

Stop by for a look anytime, and be sure to check out our other spaces on Gould St., Gerrard St. and  Pitman Hall.
Thanks,
Rye’s Homegrown
