Come out and learn about the various approaches to soil management and which methods are right for you and your edible garden. Seed Saving Workshop: Saving seeds is a very important practice that helps preserve biodiversity in our ecosystem. It is estimated that there used to be 307 varieties of corn, 408 varieties of tomatoes in the early 1900’s. However, with industrial food production, it is estimated that only 12 varieties of corn and 79 varieties of tomatoes exist currently. RHG is excited to have Colette Murphy from Urban Harvest (http://www.uharvest.ca/), an organic seed company in Toronto. This is a hands-on workshop where you will learn best way to plan your garden for seed saving and seed saving methods.
